Will a factory 1965 Wildcat 355 air cleaner fit an Edelbrock carb? I know some early GM 4bbls used a smaller air cleaner. What year was the cut off?

They pretty well made the switch from AFBs to Qjets in 67, mostly 66 and earlier air cleaners will work. They are getting harder to find.

Edelbrock has a larger diameter air horn than the Wildcat 355 air cleaner.
Almost all aftermarket air cleaners and q Jet air cleaners will fit on the Ebrock.

If you want to use the early air cleaner with the small opening (4-7/32") on a carb with the larger 5-1/8", you can make a simple ring spacer about 1/2" high, 5-1/8" round, to sit on the carb. Then the 4-7/32" air cleaner will just sit on top of that spacer.
I do this on my dual quad 425 to use the original air cleaner on the later AFB carbs .

OR, just swap the tops. Bolt off, bolt on. Then the fuel inlet is in the front like stock.
