That's one heck of a deal everyone. The 66 posi carrier is hard to find. Use it like it is or with a ring gear spacer and a higher gear.

Hey what you doing with that drive shaft?

I just need the end parts for the flat flange, don't need the whole drive shaft.
Could hack it off with a hack saw near the green line. If you wanted to just cut it off to make it easy if you plan to just junk it. Or if not you can remove the parts.

would need it shipped to 43618

Have you tried hitting the wrecking yards? There were a lot of driveshafts w/constant velocity joints in the mid to late '70's...I used one on a '76 Pontiac. It would be a shame to cut up that '66 piece, but I guess it's better than seeing it go to the crusher if nobody else can use it.

Yes, see my 80s drive shaft and its rear end is the newer Ujoint style.
But the 75 POSI I have to put in is a flat flange.
So I need the flat flange drive shaft parts to swap on mine.
Just gonna be easier to do it that way for me.

Forgive me, my intent is not to hijack your for sale thread. :beer

That doesn't look like a '66 pinion flange.
The '66 flange is more square like this one off the '66 I owned.
Either that flange was changed, or it is a '67 - '70 rear.

I have this driveshaft, but the price would have to be right for me to consider cutting it.

Either way, that is a screaming deal for that rear end!

Why are all the deals 1,000+ miles away from me? :ball:

Well it looks like what I need to hook up my 75 posi.

And yes if it was closer id just give him $100-150 or what ever for it all and put it in. As its not to far off the scale gearing wise. Already content with the 2:73 posi thats going in to rpelace the peg leg 2:73.

Judging by his first pic it looks like the same type of flange I got.

Figure if he gonna lose $200 on the deal he might want to see its parts.

Here is the spare flange I have. Its the 69-70 type. You need to use it with a CV joint though.

Hold it! I was just enlightened that it is a 3.07 rear.

I have someone who wants to put that carrier into a 71 case. If that swap is possible I'll take the rear, if not, we'll see if anyone else needs it. If not, I'll still take it to save it from the crusher.
