https://asheville.craigslist.org/cto/d/hendersonville-buick-wildcat/7384407472.html This is within 15 minutes of my house. Looks like a decent car but the asking price is a little high. Willing to go take a look for serious buyer.
Even if completely rust free its over priced in the current condition. I paid 1/2 for mine and have nearly 10K in it to make it road worthy.
That poor old Cat has a lot of rust; - who knows what's under that paint...a classic case of the wreck being worth more than the runner because of it's "potential". I wish sellers would give up with this fantasy of thinking that because the wreck that they've haphazardly taken apart and lost the pieces to has X amount of options, or a certain feature that's unusual that it's "rare" and has "potential" to be a Barrett-Jackson contender in the right hands after a full restoration. The fact is, the car in it's current state is junk and the only real potential it has is making it to a crusher. A car should be bought and sold based on it's current condition, not it's "potential" as a rarity. As anyone who's ever restored a car knows, there are an awful lot of "ifs" and huge expenditures of cash to go through before a bush-buggy becomes a blue-chip collectible. More high "potential" cars end up making it to the wrecker than to the winner's podium. In this case, the car has a lot of nice options and some of them are salvageable; - not knowing the underside condition of the car or whether or not the rest of the mechanicals are even there I'd have to conclude this thing would make a nice parts car for someone with a nice runner. There's no way it's worth the money being asked, which is in the territory of a Class-4 or 5 runner, which this thing obviously is not.
I gave 1500 for a hard top in like condition as a donor for my build and it had rust free 1/4s, doors and ft fenders.
