20 mpg would be so nice !! but my 340 with the only available 2 spd auto dosnt come close to that. i believe a 3 spd stick was the only option , but ive never seen one .not many out there . im sure that would improve milege , and performance a quite a bit. ive thought about a 200 4r .but like i said with 3600 built , i guess i should leave it numbers matching . sure is nice that now you can have it all , in a new cheap ecobox .but compare it to a model t ,and they came a long way in that 50 yrs !!! what will happen in another 50 yrs guess ill never know

I don't disagree but at least it had a V8. You used to be able to get the SS package on an Chevy Impala with a straight six and three on the tree!

Yeah, that was Chevy's version of lameness. I think it was contagious.

I found out who the buyer is, and he is a big fan of original, low mile, unrestored cars, I think it will be in good hands and will not be "455'd".

Yeah, that was quite lame. Trying to figure out what makes it a "Super Sport" with a six cylinder? For that matter, even with a 283 V8.

The Impala Super Sport was a buckets-and-console package/model. It's no different than the Ford Galaxie XL or Plymouth Sport Fury.

Yep, me too - 21 with the 200-4r, while I had the 300-2 with the 200-4r in the car I'm betting 25 was about what
I was getting, plenty quick and not very thirsty for a v8.

MINE DOESNT COME CLOSE . IVE HAD TO CARTERS RBLT BY A LOCAL expert .neither works like it should , and ive got a lead foot . but its hiting on 8 so shouldnt be that much of a difference . our gas in norcal might be part of the problem . i also run reg. gas so my timing isnt where it should be . 10.25 really should alays have prem. . when im done with my 71 , i might re-think the 200 again .should be plug and play ,right , so it could be put back in , if so desired ??

I dug out my 1967 Buick Salesman's Pocket Guide. MSRP for the W1 package was $47.13. Seems like a lot for a handful of emblems, especially in 1967 dollars.

That's a good bit of extra trim as well, it's not just a few GS emblems.

I spoke to the owner a few weeks ago, and he has the car running, and said it runs well but the radiator needs attention. He said it appeared to still have most of the original wires, belts, etc., and really is a time capsule. He is a member here on v8buick, although he doesn't post very often. Hopefully he will give us an update and / or some more photos.

Been driving my 67 with the 300 37 years, a coupe decades ago I could pull 21 on a trip, never anything more, as gas formulas have changed over the years, the mileage has change for the worse, it would be lucky to see 17.

Ethanol doesn't have anywhere near the energy density of gasoline, so 10% dilution will effect fuel mileage compared to pure gas.
