I have a 1967 GS400 with the Switch Pitch TH400 transmission. When I purchased the car the slow idle (transmission stator) switch was broken. After an exhaustive search I found this rare switch. As I was trying to figure out how to properly install this switch I realize that something just isn't right. If I am to beleive the service manual the upright on the throttle linkage is backwards??? Is this possible? Could someone with a similar car, a Riviera or a full size '67 should be the same, take a picture of the linkage where it connects to the upright rod on the firewall and post it or PM it to me? I have posted a picture of mine to show what I am talking about.
I'll take a couple pictures for you tonight. I have a few cars to reference. I can tell you right now that your throttle linkage arm is bent. Doesn't look like it'll hurt anything, but thought you should know.
Thanks! I straightened the linkage last weekend. The area that I would like to see is where that rod connects to the upright rod on the firewall.
I snapped a pic from 2 cars. They look the same to me. Let me know if you want a more specific picture. I also have an extra throttle assembly somewhere I could take a picture of "out of the car" for more clarity... but I'd have to dig it out. Not sure where it's at off the top of my head.
Thanks for the pictures. My shop manual shows and describes the position of that switch to be on the opposite (bottom) side of the juncture of the two rods. From what I can tell, that is the way it is on a Riviera according to pictures that I received from a Rivi owner. The linkage is a bit different. Thanks again for your help!
