My son banged my driver's door pretty good in the driveway...easiest to fix is just replace the door.

Question for those who have done it before: my door is electric; are doors with manual windows gonna fit my electrics if I take everything out of my door and try to replace? I am hearing that these doors come with 5/16 and 3/8 bolts on the door hinges - did the manual's come with 5/16 bolts and the electrics come with 3/8s?

further question: if I get a replacement door that comes with the hinges included, are the bolts to the body the same for all rivs? i.e. the 5/16 or 3/8 bolts are to the door...

About the only question I can answer - your electrics from the banged up door will fit the manual doors !
There was a thread here that pretty well answered the bolt situation, try a search. As I recall, all 2nd generation Riviera doors are just about the same, with the exception of '66's that may have had different size bolts - only minor alterations are needed for locks, and internal handles. I have '67 doors on my '68, with power widows, and the only mods were the door lock pivots and interior 'paddle' style pull handle mounts. :TU:

(Don't know why pictures post upside down; they were sent right-side up)

Here are pictures of the door. A local old school body man said he could fix it and his ball-park price sounded reasonable but he suggested I find a door cause I would be easier and would need to use any filler.

For those that are wondering. My son backed our Mini-Cooper into the door in our driveway, so I guess he was doing 3 or 4 mph. I think he found the weakest part of the car...

Good thing the window was UP - there is absolutely nothing inside that large door where he hit it, so it just buckled pretty easily ! :TU:

good aim though; just kept it all contained on the door; no fender or quarters.

Little compound and it rub right out,...

Thats a man sized dent for sure , yea it can be fixed but as deep as it is it will just stretch but since its gotta be taken off to repair and fix jamb area I concur replacement is the best option . Good luck in your hunt Sundell auto parts has several of them cars may be wort a call up there
