I have looked at a nice old 67 Skylark but it has some bad rot in the trunk where a previous owner had carpet glued down. The trapped moisture destroyed the trunk pan.

I'm not a body man and can't weld. The guy that has the car has a two piece trunk pan for an Olds. Is it going to be as simple as just cutting it out and welding a new one back in?

I'm worried that it is rotted part of the body mounts. I'm not looking for a perfect job but a good serviceable repair. Any idea of the cost to repair this?

These should be pretty hi-res pictures if you right click and view original. https://www.dropbox.com/sc/j4svx0ti9vx8noj/AADbrQ47IG-J-pBNi40g7ttda

Labor to do correctly will be in the $500 to $1000 range depending on how the pans needto be mmassaged to fit and how extensive the support rails damage is

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. Another guy I deal with told me it would be between 1000 and 1500, depending on how the old one was cut out and how difficult it was to get the new one in so that's on par with that.

Anyone want a line on a '67 Skylark with factory air that is still hooked up and sort of works? LOL
