    Hey Everybody,

Interested in your opinions. I picked this car up a couple years ago and have been ambivalent about what to do with it ever since.

It's an honest 19,000 mile (I'm pretty sure) original dry clean car. Perfectly (for Svengali) equipped: PS, AT, Factory A/C, but V6. Light colored interior and tinted windows. No fussy/costly/failure-prone electric anything, only a radio and a driver's remote mirror. Bought it with the intention of messing with it. Always have wanted to put a late model supercharged 3800 into something like this, and this is the perfect one for it. But then....gosh, it's so original! Practically only have to find one T3 and I could be points judged. Or, maybe I should move it along to some BCA person who is a serious preservationist (I'm really not). I must say it's really fun to drive as-is, surprisingly not too slow, and really cushy/relaxing. What would you all do?

And potentially sacrificial lamb, looking quite young in pristine factory paint:

Is that car in Denver? I would say make it yours. Not like you are changing up a Stage One car. Make the car as you want it to be. Would make an awesome driver for sure.

No, it's already mine up in Mpls. Got it about two yrs ago out of Pierre SD, originally a Kansas car.

Even the lowly 4 doors are only that original once. Keep it or sell it, but dont hack it! ws

Hey a new four door whatever is what 25k minimum? Put not even 10k in that car and make it yours? You win.

Its all about your enjoyment in driving and utilizing the car to meet your needs. If you like it now will the upgrade make it more of a keeper considering the effort and expense required? From your pictures and your description of how its driving and handling now, I personally would keep it as is or sell it on if your looking for a change.

If you don't see yourself doing anything with it, or you don't "love' it, then list it. There's bound to be someone who'd absolutely love to have a time-capsule like that, 4 doors and 6 cylinder and all.
    Personally, for what it's worth, I wouldn't muck with it at all, leave it the way it is. Two reasons;
    1) It's totally original; - it's worth more as it is right now than it ever wold be painted up and restored, even to original.
    2) Once customized, it'd be next to impossible to sell and recover any of what was spent customizing it. It just has too many doors and posts to make it a credible custom that would appeal to the masses.
    Just my opinion...

I agree; its highest and best use is exactly how it sits. Keep or sell it but don’t change it.

Or make it yours. How much is it really worth in today's market? Either way you have a nice car. Just keep the original parts.

I agree with this completely. Too nice to mess with.

    Hi,

Do what you want, its nice, but no one is going to pay a premium for it. And sure someone restoring a 67 Gran Sport will have no problem stealing the nice parts from it and parting it out.

What do you want, make it a sleeper?

I have a 65 that has a 300, 4v 4 speed, fun car nice driver, if it were a V6 I would be considering upgrading to a 300 or 340, even 350 or 455 although maybe look at upgrading the transmission and see how you like driving it. My first 65 was a V6 2 speed, not the fastest, but wasn't the worst car to drive. Either way it will only be a good driver as 4 doors get very little attention at a car show, my 4 speed one gets more attention by older women than guy's unless they see the stick

GN drivetrain would be neat option, although will cost just as much as a 2 door to do the conversion too.

    Good luck with the decision,

I'm a preservationist but my 1st thought was a GN drivetrain.

But, if you can get close to what the one on BAT sold for (maybe list it there - Lots of low mi. stuff on there & seems to bring good $), sell it.

If you swap drivetrains, keep the original one under a tarp and enjoy!
