Working through my resto of my 1968 GS400. I am getting much better with the patch panels as a result of working on the floor pans. I am happy with my floor pan welds. Yesterday, I started on the trunk pan, I cut and stripped the cancer out and I need to replace at least the two center trunk pan supports. I have to admit, I a scarred that I will wreck this car if I'm not careful. I am wondering if any of you have any words of advise on how to replace them. Or is it simply a process of cutting one out at a time, and welding in the replacements I have??? I hope the pictures help show what I am working with!

Progress update: I located and drilled out the 8 per side spot welds on the front end of each of the brackets and the 2 each on the back end and have removed the tank support braces. I plan on welding them back in tomorrow and complete the trunk pan installation. I am posting these pictures in case someone else have questions in the future, similar to question I had on the original post. It is really straight forward and George did a great job in his explanation on his site! I was really concerned with the brace removal and install.

I postponed welding in the brackets and pan until I have cleaned all the other remaining rust in and around the trunk area. I will post completed pics when I get it completed!
