I'll check tonight. Looks like there's 2 styles. Which ones do you need Ted? I already have a few of the rectangular style and already experimented with taking them apart to replace the vinyl but the black ones in the pic look pretty nice & that's what I'd need.
I need white ones for GS buckets and rear seat. And the same for a black interior bucket seat GS400. I’m needy
I thought the rectangular ones were '70 only or maybe '69-70. So regardless you'll get the ones you need.
Just to help; The rectangular ones are for 1970 Gs Coupe Standard Front Bench seat interiors and will also fit other makes/ models of GM interiors. They also might be for the 68 standard interiors but I don’t remember. For a 70 standard interior you need 4 per car. The ones that are fatter in the middle, like a thin eclipse with the ends cut off, are only used in the 68 Buick Deluxe interiors, like found on the GS coupes and convertibles. They look like Sandalwood or Buckskin to me but can be dyed. It looks like the backing plates are also there. You need 8 per car, and they are very hard to find. Duane
Just to help a little further, regarding the backing plates; The backing plates for the “standard” rectangular buttons have 4 straight edges. The ones for the 68 Deluxe buttons bulge out in the middle. You need to make sure you use the correct backing plates with the correct buttons, if not, they will not look correct once installed. The other thing here is the 68 deluxe backing plates often break when getting the buttons off, so be careful. As another piece of info, they make, or used to make, a tool to remove those type of buttons from the backing plates without breaking them. I have one of those tools and if done correctly have a very successful survival rate. The trick is to remove all the vinyl/foam from between the button and backing plate before you start. Con grates on your purchases. Duane PS Dano, If you send me the buttons I can pop them off from the backing plates if you want. That might save a few from getting broken. If you try to take them apart without the tool you generally break either the backing plate or the button, which doesn’t help anyone.
Thanks! I may take you up on that. I did get a couple of the ones I have off ('70 style) w/o them breaking & tbh don't remember what I used now but it wasn't easy.
