Good morning. I am replacing the drive-train in my 1968 'lark from the 350/ST300 to 430/ST400 and reading that the linkage should be fine, but is the indicator a simple matter of swapping the shift indicator plate out in the speedo cluster? I'm not a'skeerd. I got that "Lefty Loosy" thing down pat. The "Righty Tighty" part takes a little longer. (my '64) But thanks. I sorta figured since the linkage is "driven" by the transmission detentes, that I would be OK and only need to change the indicator plate, or live with it. Besides, I should keep my eye focused out about 1321 feet when I'm moving that lever in that area anyway.
