It must be a bad enough factory defect that BFG will replace them if you get lucky. My raised brown letter BFG's were almost 5 years old and they gave me a discount on a new set last year. I was happy to get the discount and really was not expecting anything. Got 4 new tires for $400, mounted and balanced.

Don't go starting that rumor. CJP69 does have a bad habit of being too lazy to delete emails some time, so he still had this one, plus I think I was an investor in this car so I had a vested interest in its sale.
You all can tell I'm new as hell at this just by the questions I'm asking, but its cool I've gotta start somewhere. Looking for some insight here......Stupid as this question may seem. Anybody know if this car could have been a stick at one time? I see a couple plugs in the firewall where that may have been possible, but it's not making sense. Reason for the question is from the day it was delivered I've had this thud sound resonating from the bellhousing area. Completely different from the Lifter tick I've been hearing. I noticed that at about 50ish when you give it gas i hear what sounds like floating in the motor. I know that's not a good description. Long story short is took it to a Mechanic who does all the cruisers around here. Told him what i was hearing. After he drove it, he pulled the Torque Converter cover and with a prybar showed me the play in the Crank. Even when you don't know **** about motors you know this ain't good. He stated that my crank is "Walking" and explained the whole Thrust Bearing thing, he also showed me how much liquified metal was in my Oil and Oil filter. looked like metallic paint. He explained that he's seen this in Manual Transmission cars where people have laid on it over time or raced it but rarely in Automatics. I guess now i can answer my wife's question about what we were gonna do this wknd. Pullin a Motor Hunny.
yikes...thats not good also, i remember this car from my childhood as i was 4? maybe 5 when my father (george) owned it i loved it!
Dylan, This has been a long hard, expensive road. Pulled the motor back in March and it sat at the machinists shop for almost 7 months. $6800 later, got it back. Dropped the motor in. I was literally about 20 minutes away from starting it. (It was late) decided to wait till the next morning. Got up and noticed antifreeze dripping for the inside of the new header. Started digging into it, ended up pulling the head and found out when the machinist put new seats in, he hit a water jacket. **** show #2. sent the head out to a well known welder that does Cast. Had it all done up and then failed a pressure test. I have spent the last month looking for a set of replacement heads with the same casting # (Man those are few and far between) They should be here next week. If the weather holds and old man winter is kind, I might be able to drive it before Christmas.
