How long is long? Here is the ad from October. :>) https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/1969-gs400-convertible-in-or-22k.389995/
no worries, just poking some fun. :>) A friend of mine was going to look at it the first go around, not sure if he ever did though.
Sellers sometimes have second thoughts when cars don’t sell right away. A lot of tire kickers make the process exhausting and they say to hell with it I’ll keep it
Seems like one that'd be worth shipping east, esp. if he'd take $20k. Add another $2500 in shipping and feel pretty good about the deal!
Saw one in the same colors at a local cruise night a few years back, it really looked good and made me a bit of a fan of that body style, is close so could have been the same car.
I'm taking the ad @ face value but lots of folks to look @ out that way & been for sale for awhile. If it checks out I'd offer $18k & hope to settle @ $20k, pay the $2500 in shipping & feel pretty good about it all.
Went and looked at this car late last summer with another Buick enthusiast and we drove it. It needs everything to restore it. It's a tired old girl.. If you did all the work yourself and farmed out the paint & bodywork, top, interior, engine and drivetrain, it would take at least 50-60k not counting what you paid for it. But...it would be a beautiful car when its done. 69 convertibles are my favorite. We're relatively sure a prospective buyer could get a decent deal on it. Like? $_________
I'm not buying it but if I were serious, my biggest concern would be how rusty is it? The seller did sorta indicate what you said in the ad in that he never had the money to put into it that it needs.
They don't all have to be prom queens. Could make a nice driver, especially with a little love and a weekend spent detailing it.
Haven't seen the car but I remember in the old add he said rust under the hood so if it is just the typical surface rust, that's pretty good.
