    Hey everyone,

I am new to the site and classic parts buying in general. I hoping the community will be able to help guide a first time buyer here. I am looking for a trunk for a 1969 GS400. I have a l0t of work to do to the car to get it back road ready but this will be one of the first steps. I do not know if it will specifically need to be a 69' or if other years will work. Any help you guys can provide will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Trav

Have a very nice 68/9 one, but as Fred said shipping is the killer, I am located in Omaha, NE.

Depending on how much work you want to put in to said trunk lid 68 or 69 will work. You will need to weld holes grind off trim nubs and drill holes depending on the trunk lid. The trim for the 69 GS trunk is the elusive expensive part. You may find a road trip is the best way to get what you need.

Anyone have any experience adding the GS trunk trim slots to the trunk lid? I went the Skylark route and have the hard part remaining to do. :(

Are you referring to the “GS” that fits over the trunk key hole and flip up to open trunk? I got a piece of cardboard like the piece behind a picture frame. Poked hole through it using the emblem, then traced the edges and key hole, the made that level on the trunk marked and drilled hole fit was great

Getting to Rock Hill would not be a problem if the lid is there.
