1970 455 heads

    I have a pair of 70 heads casting # 1231786 out of my blown engine.They have been mildly ported but i cant find the flow sheet.My car ran 12.80's with these heads.They will need new valves and a good cleaning as you can see in the pictures the #8 piston exploded and bent some of the valves and also there is a piece of piston still stuck under one of the valves.The heads look like they were spared considering the carnage of the piston.The springs and everything else looks ok but I would have them checked before using them.

    That sucks. Out of curiosity, where you using cast, hypereutectic, or forged pistons? Do you know what caused it explode?

    i dont know much about date codes but if F24 AND F26 are date codes that is what they are..

    i was using a stock 70 piston and i dont really know what caused it but the piston went everywhere in the engine
