So here's our friend Paul's latest reply and I'm not sure where to go. Obviously w/o a shipping zip code there's no way the shipping could be paid up front but I don't want to corner him yet - I want to figure out how the scam works. He gives me the email address for the supposed shipper (crossmed-uk.com, which looks to be a legit operation?) which is the same email as if I click on the link on their actual website. I thought it wold be a different address embedded in the link, but from what I can tell (?) it the actual email. Hard to imagine he has someone on the inside there - One scam & that would be over. What am I missing?

    "Dan,
First of all, I want to thank you for your interest to buying my car.
The car is in an great mechanically and electrically condition, and everything works perfect, needs nothing, just put gas on it and enjoy this beauty AS-IS.
The shipping is already paid, no worries about more expenses. If you want more details feel free to use this email address office@crossmed-uk.com and ask for Sofia Jepsen, she's my agent and will give you any information you may need.
    Paul"

Give him a few more feet of rope by playing his game a few more transactions, then tell him you’ve paid, show him some doctored receipts, and start harassing him about ‘where’s my car?!’

Patrick, I like that. I've never taken one that far. I usually corner them & curse them out @ some point before that although I also like the idea of cornering him by offering to have my friend in Seattle check it out. I do online wires for my business so I could easily generate the real paperwork that would make it look it was done (and make sure there's not enough in that account just in case anything went wrong, lol)

I still don't get the email deal though. How the heck is he giving me the email of a supposed legit shipper to contact unless that's a scam too?

That's the only thing I could figure too, but at first glance it seemed legit. I missed what you referenced but also don't see anything else exc. sites that appear to add to it's validity and I scrolled several pages into Google to see. The only thing that gave me pause was the SHR (Society for Human Resources) logo on there - Why would a shipping/escrow co. put that so prominantly on their site? I did go back and read their terms and conditions and obviously no attorney in the US or UK wrote them so that must be the scam. Geez, I could see someone unsuspecting getting taken by it though. Better than the "my husband died" CL scam. I'm going to go on that assumption and play along. I'll probably offer to have my friend come look @ it and at least see what he comes back with & then do what you suggested with the wire. Too much.

Man that's way more complex then I ever thought, guess that's why people get screwed ! Kind bummed that he never responded to me, oh well maybe I'm next in line to buy this beauty, lol.
