Sounds like the one that sold at Barrett Jackson in 2009.

You have a darn good memory! It was B-J 2010 and it sold for $112,200 ($102k hammer price + fees)

This is a great GSX and I expect it to bring a high bid. It is the ultimate GSX in my opinion since it would be the quickest / fastest configuration that was offered: Stage 1, TH400, no A/C (less weight and 3.64 gears)

Someone has replaced the BB transmission tag with a reproduction BB tag which are easy to spot. when compared to an original. The reproduction is missing a line. The VIN stamping on the transmission case looks legit so it appears to be original. They probably just swapped the metal transmission tag to the reproduction because the paint was gone from the original tag (very common). I hope they kept the original tag with the car even if it is ugly and missing the paint.

One of the bidders mentioned gloss black paint. How much of a deduction ? IMG_3824.jpeg

Im not sure I'd call it gloss black. But it's definitely on the glossier side of satin. Is it "correct"? I'm sure there was a big variance on the gloss level of chassis black depending on the day of the week.

He could have also been talking about the stripes.

If it was "correct " half the floor would be white...which looks like hell....but yea it's too glossy for sure...but I wouldn't kick it out of the bed

Take your pick. I was referencing all of it. The stripes, the hood, the frame, the under side of the body, and the front spoiler are all the wrong sheen of black.

It is a very nice car but has several items (some minor and some significant) which deviate from original.

As mentioned in the auction comments the spare tire cover and package tray are not per original specs. Also the rocker panels have red stripes instead of black, the jacking instructions decal is for a B body car instead of an A body, and the brake pedal pad is incorrect. Those are easy corrections.

The more difficult corrections to make are the incorrect sheen of black throughout the car and also the incorrect layout of the stripes on the hood.

One additional finish that is not quite original is the trunk. Buick's original spatter paint was predominantly black with significantly less gray spatter.
