I bought a 1970 GS350 car for parts some time back off of ebay. It was/is rough and had most the prize items missing by the time I got it. IE. no hood, air cleaner or center console. It is also missing the rear glass which allowed plenty of rain to wipe out the interior. The motor appears to be incorrect but it wasn't the engine I was after so I never really looked at it.

It appears to have been a low option car. Power drum brakes, one legged rearend, didn't have the nicer rocker trim only the spear - that kind of stuff. The frame looks to be very nice frankly the front fenders are pretty decent on the lower parts (I think there's some good metal in the inners) otherwise they are banged and bumped up.

The car has a clear title LOL and this whole package is free for the taking. All I ask is you pick it up (located just north of Grand Rapids, Michigan) I can assist with loading and can email pics for anyone interested.

Oh, almost forgot - it has a tilt steering column in it (it is loose). And was a floor shift car......

I never heard of or seen a GS without rocker moldings. They are standard GS equipment.

I was thinking the same thing... I don't think it was possible (other than SCO) to get a GS w/o the rocker panel moldings...

Hmm, must have been a swap then by someone before me. Didn't think much of it other than noticing they weren't there and the spear type trim that you'd see on a Skylark in its place....
Pretty doggone sure though that it is/was a GS 350 car

The Vin would solve this mystery pretty quick. Some pictures would be cool too:TU: A GS might actually look pretty cool with the spears instead of the full trim. Very interesting....

I'm not seriously interested; so unless an interested party requests the pictures or you just feel generous, there is no serious need to take them. I just always appreciate seeing another GS (rough or not). I think my plate may be just a little too full as it is, although if I were closer I'd probably consider it. :Dou:

PS, Sure enough, a Freemont Cali built '70 GS350. Looks like it may be an eariler production car too...:TU:

I was thinking with all that southern rust free metal this'd be a whole new endeavor for you Chris. It definetly was early production; 16" arm bases and pointed lenses.

It was Diplomat Blue with a White bucket interior. Has a solid A/C dash pad as I recall only one small small blemish.

What a shame, sounds like it could be a really nice car. I really really really don't need another car. Don't offer again. lol:laugh: If you do decide to get those pictures, let me know though.

    BTW, happy birthday!
