Dull aluminum. Eastwood Alumiblast works good. It is lacquer based. Don't use enamel on plastic . Rustoleum is enamel.

Three colors on a grill . Silver/aluminum for outer edge. Charcoal gray for mesh grill part and flat/satin black for center.

there a actually a large discussion on this subject many years ago. One of the members posted pictures of his grill & paint colours used. I think the threads are gone.

There are only two colors on the NOS grill that I am re-painting due to shelf ware. Black inside and in-between/Argent everywhere else......

Here is a pic showing what Dave's post describes. Most of the grille is "Light Argent Silver". The egg crate portion is "Dark Argent". The center is black.

Jim Jones posted a terrific pic of colour scheme on grill for 70 gs, but which exactly are the black and argent charcoal colours?
I have one color suggested by a local friend/board member, the silver by dupli color, does this supplier have the other 2 correct colours and if so what are the part numbers? My grille got busted last year during a show by someone leaning on it, luckily I found another original in my pile in great shape, some minor repairs to 2 hairline cracks in lower grille corners, but need those colours, anyone got this info?
    Thanks

Did not know the 70 grill was all those colors. Paul use SEM trim black. You won’t be sorry. Google your zip code and check Humidity when you paint. If humidity is high . You black may flash white. wait for dry day.

try different kinds of silver on a piece of cardboard, either you can go with the correct silver or go with your own taste of silver, you never know

When I was painting 70 GS grilles the colors used were as follows. The entire grille was sprayed with PPG DP epoxy primer (black and white) that I custom mixed to match the grey plastic. I then painted the front of the grilles bright silver. The color was was a WV color called "silversbee" basecoat mixed as an interior paint and did not require a topcoat. The charcoal or argent was painted next followed by the black. The paints were mixed as interior paints and used a reactive reducer.

35146 Bottom right neutral argent. Double check to verify a good match.
