1970 GSX cowl mesh

Hello everyone,
Quick question,
1970 GSX, cowl mesh paint color. Original one is missing and installing aftermarket one. It is bare stainless. Is it flat black or the same black as the firewall.

FWIW, No such thing as a correct reproduction of the cowl screen for Buick.
The repro one available is much larger dia. material and the mesh is too big.

Huh, I have one of these sitting in my garage (repro) thinking it would be right.

Now I need to look at my original, which is a bit hashed, but not completely horrible...
