Well, $36,766. Hope it works out for the buyer. Turns our that James wasn't doing this one. The dealer he works for was doing it themselves. Hence the used car salesman flavor for the GSX representation in the ad. Nevertheless it is the same car, lets hope it pans out for the buyer as a good deal.
Looks like it is coming back to The United States. Anyone know where? I have seen "JOPARTS" on E-bay. Might even bought something from him before, just can't remember where he is.
Two aux blower motors to move fresh air in non AC cars. The stage one I just sold had that option. I have only seen two before this one on E bay.
Jim- The blowers blew air thru the lower vents in the kick panels? So instead of just getting wind when you opened the 4 pulls knobs, you got forced air via the switch? Andrew- Isnt your 72 an A/C car??
No Sir, it's non a/c. I am just looking for another option to add to my 72 if I can find one of these setups.
My guess is not too many...odds are this is the Test Car. That I2 setup is the "kicker for me"...Just too many similarities. Probably ended up in someones hands who wanted to go fast...They may have even had the Stage 2 set up on there at some point and street raced it as well....Of course it's not documented...not yet Hope who ever ended up with it will try to uncover the mystery.
Jim Jones, At this time no one knows why it was a SCO car. The only way to tell would be to drop the tank and find the POBF build sheet. I have my own ideas about this car, and if I looked at it could tell certain things that would either help prove or disprove my theory, but I am not willing to talk about this here. I try to post only facts not speculations; the last thing I need to see is someone posting "Well Duane said............ and have the info being wrong. Duane PS. I believe I was offered this car many years ago and passed on it, I have been thinking about it for a long time.
not to get too far off track here, but the power radio antenna switch was on the upper part of the radio bezel where the picture above shows the forced air switch. Anyone know where the switch was located for a 69 A-body with I2 ??
Someone's running a scam auction on this car now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970...4QQihZ012QQcategoryZ16124QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
No, this the OTHER car....you know, #4. It must be the long-lost twin to the X from Japan. p And look at the payment options....they take cash, IN PERSON! Just meet the seller, located right here in the 'United States'. Okay....I'll be there at 12 noon. You give me the car, I give you the cash..... ou: We should bid this up to a million dollars....then we're sure to get a write up in Hemmings. :Brow:
I was hoping that someone who understands how ebay works better than me would turn this in as a scam. It really frosts me that there are so many attempts to rip money off people on ebay. It even has the original sales pitch to it, and a seller with zero previous transactions. Rediculous.
