Hello everyone,

I have a 70 GS coupe clone. Wondering what interior color combinations would have come with a medium/dark blue exterior? Bucket seat interior. Also what would the console color be?

I would imagine you could get black, white, blue, saddle and sandalwood.

Doo Wop Where were you in '62?

In order. White, Black and Blue. Those three would look the best.

personally, i prefer a white interior. that, too, depends on the exterior colour. i have owned one new car with a white bucket seat interiro. that was my first new car - 1970 chevelle malibu 2dr ht. the exterior was forest green.
i know the console in that car was black as is the console in my '72 gs with a black bucet interior. my '65 nova ss had a red bucket seat interior. the console was red.

Black ,blue and white were all that was available with buckets for that color. Saddle and Sandalwood would not have been availble for blue. They had recommended combos for each color.

the question is, would the console be colour keyed?

Yes on all but white. Carpet, console, dash and kick panels would be black. I have seen the headliner in black also.
I guess I should have said I have seen the other colors with blue on documented A bodys. I have learend never to say never for cars back then. More often than not if you paid for the car you ordered they would build it, also it depends on the dealer and who you knew.

I looked and could not find the pictures that I have. Actually the blue and sandlewood look really good together.

Bucket seats were not availble in Sandewood in 70. Notch back seats were not availbale in Sandlewood in 70. Sandlewood was only avaialble on the low cost standard interior in 70.

Gerry, I think the discussion here was what was correct for 1970.

My fault as I covered all A bodys and through several years.
But I did find the pictures of the original 71 LS5 Mulsanne blue with the Sandalwood interior.
