Now that I have your attention, here is an email I got through ebay, about the 1965 console gear indicator I have on ebay. Anybody think it is real? Locations have been X'd out just in case it is. And yes, I have replied back that the part would not work with the car. Thanks, Chris To: cjp69 From: XXXX Item: 65 BUICK SKYLARK GS SPECIAL GEAR SELECTOR PLATE (8051835835) Subject: Re: Question for item #8051835835 - 65 BUICK SKYLARK GS SPECIAL GEAR SELECTOR PLATE Q: My uncle has a 1969 or 1970 Buick GTSX I believe and its a bright ugly yellow with a wing thing on the back that he swears was on it when he bought the car in the early 70's. he wants to sell it to me but I am not into old big Buicks. When I was over at his house last weekend he was showing me a chrome console thing with letters in it for changing gears. I don't remember if the letters on that console were plastic or just stamped in to the chrome plate where you shift. He wanted to get another plate for the console. Is the plate you have made for his console plate too? He said that he would sell me the car for 3500.00 dollars but I dont really want such a big gas hog. I tryed telling him to try and sell it on the internet but he doesn't even have a computer. He is now 84 years old. He live in XXXXX on a cattle ranch and I live a little bit away from him in XXXX. Will the plastic plate you have fit his Buick GTX Stage car? Thanks , XXXX
yeah but you never know. I'm sure you saw the 68 GTO in Hemmings Muscle that sat in a garage for at least 15 years.
Without a doubt! He'll probably get a rise out of you pulling on his line. I would just answer him with a short yes/ no answer. He'll be so disappointed you didnt take the bait!
or.... lol...tell him that you dont recall any Buicks that were yellow with spoilers. Tell him it sounds like a fake.
Jason, I about blew milk through my nose, and I'm not drinking milk! Seriously, though, you should offer to send him a money order from Spain for 5000 and have him give you the car plus the extra 2K in cash. :Brow: Dan
Chris ...where do you find these cars? You should look into this in my opinion. There are still gold nuggets out there hiding. Not everyone who has a Buick GS is into the web and computers. If you don't check it out and then someone else runs across it you will wish you had.Timing is everything! I learned that again on that NOS gear shift lever I fell asleep on. It might help pay for that red convertible! GSX Eric :3gears:
accents yeah Chris phone him up use one of those accents you got down pat and find out if its for real or not, not everyone is up on computers or prices me included Bill
The last line about a "stage car" gives it away for me. A guy who knows nothing about Buicks wouldn't use this term in my opinion. That being said, it would sure suck if it was true and you passed it up..... ou:
