1971 chrome auto shifter U

looking for the white metal chrome u shifter piece for 1971 buick gs in good condition

The part I'm looking for is the white metal portion that is bolted to the shifter, supports the slides and the handle attach's to it. sorry for the confusion

 

I bet you Dennis (wheelz) will have that

 

the pull up bar? I reproduce it and the U clip in aluminum if either part is what your after I have them in stock

 

FYI - my car came with a repop unit that would not hold its original shape. If the "U" widens, the hooks will not stay firmly in the shifter slots causing the springs to lift out of position and not function properly.

I replaced it with an NOS piece that snapped into place nicely.

You are correct. I should have made that clear. The piece I have is plastic and stamped TPP.

Thanks for the clarification. I have never had one sent back to me that wouldn't stay fit. I always say its the last time you buy those 2 parts for your shifter they are that good. (not bragging just the facts) I have them on my own car for over 15 years so far since I started making them.

 

I have a couple of the U shaped retainers ,NOS,still in the original plastic bag.Bruno.

 

thanks for the replys. Michael I aready one of your aluminum insert piece. The pull up bar isn't the piece I require. It is the cast chrome metal piece that bolts to the shifter and houses the slides held by (2) 1/4" bolts.

I would like to have one in good condition or better as it's for my GSX, The chrome was good on mine but broke around the mounting hole. Also I could use a new lift up bar if you have it

Glen... buy Mike Garrisons Gorgeous ALUMINUM horse shoe handle and his aluminum lift up bar... YOU WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER of either of these two items...Mikes are perfect and all my SHOW console restorations have Mikes parts on them...


Here are some pix of 2 auto console shifter levers... THE CHROME IS DECENT ON BOTH, HOWEVER, one is better and has less shifter side felt abrasions/scuffing: $75 shipped. The second has light scratches and a little more obvious side scuffing: $60 SHIPPED...
