If it were mine, I'd try Hemmings or the Dupont Registry. Getting it to run documented number would also be a priority considering all the go-fast time and money into it. For the money being asked I wouldn't except less than a mint interior as well. If attention to detail was skipped there, where else were corners cut... (Again -- for the $$$$ being asked) IMHO the mods don't really add any value that I'd be willing to pay for. $20-25K tops. Regardless, I do think it's a cool car and I hope you get what you are asking.
Post some nice pics of the car on here, may help. Those pics from the mag don't do it any justice. And my crappy old dinosaur of a computer takes too long to bring the pics up.
Really NICE car. I edited the Pics smaller in Photo Shop and cleaned them up some and this is what I came up with :Comp: <img src="http://www.thencph.ws/pics/ACLazerpage02.jpg"></a> <img src="http://www.thencph.ws/pics/ACLazerpage03.jpg"></a> <img src="http://www.thencph.ws/pics/ACLazerpage04.jpg"></a> Good Luck Dom
It's a great car Gray, wish I could afford it. It's not only a little faster then the 72 but allot faster then the 69 too
:beer Does wrenching back with relative ease include cutting out the roll cage too? o No: I love the car. You could never create it for that money. I think it's a pretty good deal. The argument of easily putting it all back though, I think that's a little bit of a stretch. Even though I guess it could be done if all the parts are there.
It is a roll bar, not a roll cage so it would not be an absolute nightmare to put back to original. I am just in disbelief that this car has not sold yet. I would try ebay again, but I do not want to go through the hacking nightmare again with someone copying my ad and assigning a $2900.00 buy it now price.
Yeah, that's a LOT of cool stuff on that car and some real good r&d done as was stated earlier, which obviously appears to work well. I don't know man, right now, the market is weird for cars like this. It's in a class that's kinda between all the others. Not totally stock, not totally race (although running 10's you'd never know it). A hot rodded street strip car with unique mods. Maybe people just aren't sure. You'd think the magazine article would make it an automatic sale though.
Well, i guess the problem is that your car does not fit in any category. For a streetcar it is too wild and downright dangerous with that much power and stock suspension and brakes. And for a dragracer it is too civilized. Here is what i would do with it: Buy a lot of suspension goodies from Global West, some big brakes from Baer and a set of wheel vintique 17 inch wheels with good streetires. That way you would have one hell of a prostreet car that would be able to use the power safely on the streets.
If it helps, I have seen Daves car at Le Masa Cruise a couple of years ago... Beautiful, is the only way to describe it... Worth every penny he is asking. Michael
I see its on E-BAY today. Four bids @15,100 with one day to go?o No: What a joke! Dave, I only hope you can sit on it a while longer. I hate to see someone loss their ass on a car like that. That's the same reason I pulled my add,I'll be damned if I'd give my car away! Hang as long as you can! That car is a deal @ 30k all day!!!
Thanks everybody. I appreciate the compliments. You don't get featured in Car Craft because your car is a piece. It is even faster than when it was featured by close to a 100 more RWHP. I just had a custom made cog pulley set made for the car. I will definitely not dump it. I have had the car for 13 years and would not give it away. With over 70K in hard cash, I would have to be stupid to get rid of it for 15K.
