This is not my car and I have no knowledge of it. Below is the add and the response I got from the owner.

    Response to inquiry

    Hello,

My GSX is still available. I am not sure if you are aware, but in 1971 GM went on strike at the same time this car was built. None of the cars at this production time had Build sheets.

This car is real and I have been trying to document with the sloan museum. The archives for 1971 only are not available.

The car has everything correct to be a GSX option. The car is very nice.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Good catch. I was looking at the Craiglist for Atlanta area and missed the fact it was in North Carolina.

Very few 71's have build sheets. That's why there are only approximately 20 documented 71 cars.

If someone gets the body number we could at least see if it is a SCO car.

You find out something new everyday. Not to run on a tread, but did you rember the 71x that was at the GS nats 90ish, that the guy claimed to be the 71 show car? Duane

My friend, I have seen so many of these cars and talked to so many people about them that I can't keep them all straight. Just this past week I have talked to people about 4 different GSX's.

    Duane,

I have asked for all the information on the car. Owner indicated they would get it to me this weekend. I will update when possible.

Thanks, Mark. The last thing I need right now is another car, but I like looking at them.

Thanks for the packet you sent me. Did you get my info yet?

Please let me know how you sent it and when?

I got the following from the owner over the weekend. VIN is 434371G1..... The car was built in Framingham. At first glance it does not appear to be a real GSX because it was not built in Flint. The other possibility is one got built in Framingham somehow. Without paperwork that would be really hard to prove.

Doo Wop Where were you in '62?

Pretty sure there were Stage I cars built in Framingham and Fremont in 1971, as well as in Flint.

The assembly manual states that any of the available factory GSX options were 'Flint built only'.

    Not a GSX.

Independent of the stage one option I think in the GSX world it is accepted that all GSX cars, stage one or not, regardless of year were built at Flint. To my belief a non Flint built GSX has never been documented. Maybe Duane or Brad can jump in to give their opinions on that.

Think you be right. Must have "brain fade" or "CRS". Thread is about a GSX, not a Stage1. Back to my "regularly scheduuled meds.:) "
