    I just purchased a beauty 1971 Skylark vert 350.

It has a squeak coming from underneath that's driving me a bit nuts. I think its body mounts. I can open the door while driving and and the squeak remains. Can a just squirt a bunch of lube up around the body mount rubber if so what type do you suggest? Other suggestions?

20 sec clip of the noise

That seems louder inside the car? Usually I would look at the control arm bushings first, but it doesn't sound like that to me.

Does it make that squeak even on a smooth pavers road?

I think your on the right track. Anytime the suspension moves. It's more obnoxious when it's a choppy bumpy road than a speed bump for example.

I think I'll hit every zert with grease then hit every piece of rubber that moves with some white lithium?

    WOW!
Could very well be a dry U Joint, the squeaking seems to frequent to be a body mount.

Update: Still haven't located the noise. I had the driveline out to change some speedometer gears the joints are all new and well lubricated.

I hit a bunch of random things under the car with a rubber mallet and can replicate the noise if I strike the drive train just right, although I'm having a hell of a time finding the source. By the time i get to the top of my gravel drive way I'm ready to turn around and park it. so annoying

The sound is louder inside the car from your video. Does it make the noise with all the windows closed? Could be an interior issue. Just spite balling here.

After a complete restoration on my GS I had this horrible squeak coming from somewhere in the front of the car. Took me forever to figure out what it was (I thought it was coming from the underside of the car). It was the back rubber hood bumpers on the cowl. I put a little grease on them and readjusted them and no more squeak. Might be a long shot, but pretty easy to rule out and it sounded just like your video.

interesting Ill give that a try Roger!

Manny the sound to me seems like its directly under the drivers seat. Windows open close top up or down door open or closed makes no difference.

Under the driver set. Trans cross member, clips that hold the e-brake cables. I have the same year Vert (455) and can relate to the rock and squikes.

Cross member bolts good one I'll crank those down and see. Its ok to add lithium grease on the e-brake cable clips id think?

Finally got it. I removed the body mount bolts under both doors and hosed both of the bushings down with wd40. They looked new not sure why they would be so squeaky
