I have a 1972 Buick GS convertible when lifting the top of it will not drop down into the well all the way up about 6 inches what should I check
When you put the top down, you are supposed to stop when it's about 1/2, when the area behind the rear windows starts to wrinkle. That area on both sides gets jammed between the hinges, it can damage the top over time, and will stop it from retracting all the way. Down about 1/2, get out and pull the top material on both sides out from the hinges. it could also be a top pad problem.
