I always am a sucker for going in and putting myself underwater. If I had an extra 45 to 50K I would already have this one. With both cars you really do not have to do a numbers swap but it will cost more than it would bring at sale. I'm going to try to stop looking at this car because from the time 20 years ago when I found this same car in Hemmings I have been sinking. With the water at my nostrils I'lll keep trying to hit that ole Lottery who knows maybe.
Curious on how it looked 20 years ago. I also weighed the purchase price, restoration, and final sale price. And in my logarithm equation, didn't add up!
Mike Massa from this area would have to say. I think it was rusty then. If memory serves he had a lot of NOS parts when I spoke to Mike Swbodka about it. HE came and looked at it and passed that was 10 or more years ago. I cannot help but thing if I owned a resto shop it wouldn't be that hard to save ito No:
Would be a no brainer if you had a shop and space, oh and a little money. I sat in it a couple years ago or so and thought it definitely would come back nicely.
Pat's wife REALLY wanted me to have that car. You guys don't know how much I tried to justify buying it after Pat passed. She was gonna give me a very good deal on it too. Just could not make myself do it. I see now it's already bid up higher than what she sold the two cars for. Maybe I should've bought it.........maybe not. Oh well. Hopefully someday this car will get the resto it deserves. I'm sure Pat is looking down and watching with interest. ray:
Hey Dean, I didn't know Pat, but I definitely can relate. That's why I think I ended up with his car. I'm trying to do him proud even though I never met him. Like previously stated, I wish I could have saved them all, but someone will. When I pass, I hope my cars are appreciated. God bless!
Alright I'm totally confused! When the add first came up it was at 9k. Next day or so I see it at 10,900. Earlier today it went back down to 9k. Know it is at 1k with no bids and a buy it now of 15k? What gives
if you look at bid history you can see that two bids were retracted, they were likely fishing to see where the reserve is set. http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=111890991861&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2565
If someone here buys this I have a pair of NOS valve covers :3gears: Man a manual Stage 1 SunCoupe if it was a 72 would it be an easier sell?
Right I have a roof panel from a Suncoupe that was supposed to be a 4 spd stage 1 but probably not. You now how people exaggerate they did make at least 1 SunCoupe GS 350 4 spd. I have the pics and saw it at BG many years ago and I know where its at today Mark Macubrie did a Sloan search and I think has the info on all GS Stage 1 SunCoupes made 6 total not knowing if that includes the orange magazine test car bilt early on. Several pics online on that one full vinyl roof and flame orange N 25
I've been looking for this car for a while to see how it survived. I bought this car in 1980 in Tucson where it was original sold. Kinda bizarre that it showed up on EBAY right after I talked to the owner. I filled him in on a bunch of info that I know about the car. I was going to try to get him pictures but I couldn't find them. I was amazed at the original parts that had been removed and changed. If you read the info in all the thread about it its kinda sad. Hopefully the next owner gives it a new life. It was a blast when I owned it. matt
The lack of demand / interest in Colonnade parts will certainly make finding parts and or restoration ever more difficult / expensive. Listed parts from a pair of 75's that appeared in one of the El Paso TX U pull it's a number of years ago - and not a great deal sold. Metal sections such as doors, fenders, trunks and bumpers were very solid.
Yep. Then he sold off all the NOS parts, then sold the cars 2 years later. What a crock, almost as stupid as me not buying the whole lot the first time. Car has not surfaced since.
