I found a nearly restored 76 Pontiac Firebird that was rebuilt with a 76 buick 231 odd fire engine and a turbo 400 auto transmission.

I know the tranny is a great find, but I do not know much about the engine. Is this a reliable engine? I know it only puts out about 105-110HP stock... So is it worth it? What are my options when adding power to this engine?

    Thanks!

the 231 odd-fire is basically the same engine as the turbo v6's ( even-fire 231's ) that terrorized Corvettes in the 80's. but instead of having a split throw crank, it's got the rods paired up so it should be even stronger.

turbo is really the only way to go to get something worthwhile out of a displacement this small.
