Hello. I have a 78 Lincoln with a 460. I noticed recently that it will crank and crank with the key in the start position, but I don't seem to actually have any spark until I key back to the run position. I don't like when this happens as the car will usually fire when I let the key back to run, though it can backfire or the starter will spool way up.

It has Duraspark, and I replaced the module about 10-12 years ago for a different issue. Spark plugs are new. I think it is just a spark issue, though I did replace the starter about 2 years ago.

Do you think this is ignition cylinder related, or maybe another issue with the module, or possibly ignition coil? The coil was replaced at some point, but that could've been 20 years ago or more.

    Thanks
