The 1972 skylark came with 4 engine codes on the body tag found under the hood and in the vin. One was the 350 2 barrel carb( I don't remember the code.) then the 350 4 barrel model listed with a J in the vin. Then the GS model came with a 350/4 that was a K in the vin.( the K represents a dual exhast and ram air. The engine is identical to a J vin 350/4) and a 455 model and I don't remember the code for that but I think it was a H. Some one here will correct me on this. No 350 was ever built by Buick with a 4 bolt main.
