2 door post window chrome

Hi All, I have a 2 door post 71 skylark and I was wondering how to shine it up or polish it. I have tried sanding, polishing with different compounds. The trim seems to be aluminum and I’m not sure how bring it back to life. Thanks in advance Kirk

 

I would remove the trim and use a buffing wheel. You are correct it is aluminum. You must be very careful with it.

 

What did you sand it with? You may have already damaged it...

Thats Anodized alum.... It don't polish to a mirror finish.... If you started to sand it you may as well. strip the rest of the Anodizing off...
Personally I would get it re coated.. or paint it with a clear coat...
