Getting ready for paint real soon I have the car fully blocked and apart now ,I have different color blotches of
primer fill and also about a dozen areas dime size of metal showing trough the final sandblock...so a coat of sealer
is what I am planning on ....2 questions

    1) Which is best ...should I just reduce ppg epoxy primer to make a sealer or buy a 2-3 quarts of a specific ppg sealer ?

    2) Before spraying sealer what is the last grit of sandpaper to scuff her up with or just use a red/grey scotch brite ?

I really like the PPg epoxy. If it is dp 90 or a different color it makes a very good sealer if reduced as directed. Some of those require a mixing time in the can before spraying. I think it suggested twenty minutes after mixing before spraying. I would scratch it all up with 320 before applying the sealer. One nice even coat before color. Post some pics...I need to get inspired to paint mine. It is getting close.

I agree use the DP epoxy cut it with some 885 and like stated above 320 or 400 max , I also use some Bulldog Adhesion promoter around the edges. One thing I have noticed with the DP's as of late is it has been bumpy if you dont cut it thin enough, looks like tiny solvent bubbles or something not all batches have done it but seems like most have not sure whats goin on with it . Id do a test panel otherwise it plays hell getn the base to lay right

Bulldog Adhesion promoter on the edges ?

I thought that was for plastics and flexible parts only

Frank you should mix a primer sealer/surfaced That's NOT High Buid Primer. What I mean is I seal cars every day. 2:1:1 on my computer it has a 4:1 mixture thicker more durable. But when you spray (3) coats and when it dries. Run your hand down car it is much smoother than the FILLER primer that goes on the MUD I have painted for 30 yrs. and Yes Americans just spray sealer over bare spots and then paint. But when I comes to overall paint jobs. You should have a different mentality. Dude (3) more coats of primer sealer then block with 8-9 long block 220 just take 1 coat off then block with 500/600 wet That's my 2 cents How Hot is a black top parking lot with a car with new paint on it in UV Sun light If you don't believe me . Next hot day put back side of your hand on hood of car in the afternoon. Bet you can't keep it on hood longer than 20 seconds. What's happening to the BARE metal spots under 1 mil of paint/sealer . Get the picture
