I am installing a remote air cooled transmission cooler with an electric fan on my street rod. The fan has a line mounted temperature switch that controls the blower. The instructions with the switch say to mount it on the inlet line from the trans. This doesn't sound correct to me. I think the switch should be mounted on the return line so that the fan runs only when the cooler needs help. What's your thoughts on this?

Personally I would go with the mfg. recommendation. Besides it is easier to stay cool than get cooler once things heat up.
