Does anybody have a trans builder they can recommend for a 2004r? I have a BBB 462, with Ede heads and a TA 212 cam. I'm running a 3.55 rear gear, and would love an overdrive.

I am having mine built by Lonnie at Extreme Automatics. Seemed like the best deal for the money to me and they were able to work with the time frame I have. Chris at Ck performance is another builder I have heard nothing but good things about. A few days ago I was talking with him on the phone about a transmission I was selling, he is a cool guy and I wouldn't hesitate to give him my business in the future if the opportunity arose.

If you are looking for complete cores to start with to save some money I have a couple 200-4rs for sale.

The big three are Lonnie, Vince and Chris. I have my own builder in MI but we buy our parts from extreme. Vince Janis is closest to youhttp://www.janistransmission.com/About_Us.html

I'd call Vince Janis in Akron, Oh. he has built 200-4R for a lot of Buicks ,Turbo and BBB. he builds them strong and more reasonably priced than anyone else in the states when I checked, and I called all of the big names. He built one for my JW 470, 575 hp, 580 lbs.ft. torque. Excellent reputation and I've never heard of any body breaking one he has built. Janis transmission 1-330-753-6609.

Vince did mine. Nothing but good things to say about him and his transmission. My engine put 396/476 to the rear wheels. I got a 2800 stall from Chris at CK. I think Vince gets parts from him. It's been 5-6 years now. And almost every time I was there, there would be a GN getting theirs done. And the fact that he was only 25 minutes from my house made it all the better.

I have a toggle switch hidden in the glove box and there's nothing like locking the trans up in 4th and cruising at 70 mph at 2200 rpm's.

Hoping to answer your question!! (Re: 200 4R vendor suggestions)

    Hi Tom and V-8 Buick assertive engine fans . . . :3gears:

Based on advice on this board I went with Chris at CK performance:

I got my tranny back in about the time I expected. I ordered it in June and got it in September, . . . . . . 2011 :(

Stay tuned! I'm hoping to get the tranny installed in my trusty wagon this year and behind my JW assertive masterpiece big-block Buick engine - should be quite a show!

    Cheers, Edouard :beer

Vince Janice is one of the best, I have been dealing with him for over 30 years. I remember when his dad was there and they had sprint racers in the shop. Vince races a Grand National. You will not go wrong with him.
