I know it not an old car BUT I HAVE A PROBLEM!

lately the temp gauge in the car has been creeping more towards the middle of the gauge, hasn't gone past yet. Usually its been more towards the cool side.

I had it tuned up yesterday and im still haveing the same problem. The mechanic said it could be that someone put stop-leak in it and it gummed up the flow.

Had new thermostat put in, new hoses, drained and put new coolant (not a flush)

Any advice on this, what else i might be able to do??

    Thanks

Probably a 3.1......these were notorious for intake gasket failure. Keep your eye on the coolant level, if it's going down and not leaking on the driveway, chances are the intake gasket is leaking internally. Does it tick alot when you first start it? How many miles?

dude this is right on! what is a 3.1 exactly? The level did begin to go down about a month back. I filled it back up and it went down, but not as much. And yes it does tick alot when i first start it!

I had the oil changed but they didnt mention the oil having coolant in it. About 75k on it.

    Is it a costly fix?
