I'd like to do the 2004r conversion to my 67 GS 340 Ca Special w/ St-300 trans and column shift... and I have lots of questions.
I have just obtained a set of nice bucket seats and 3-spd console w/ linkage but I'm unsure of shifter linkage conversion. What works best?
What about the crossmember... will the ST-300 CM work or do I also need to upgrade to the Th-350 or 400 CM?.. and from what car?
    What about kick-down linkage?
Any and all comments are welcome.
    Thanks,
    -Drew

    Hey Drew,

Welcome to the forum! Take a look in the FAQ section. There is a post on this subject on a '67 Skylark that Hot Rod Magazine did a couple years ago.

Also, I did a thread on my '66 swap in the tranny forum. Just search my username and you should find it. My car was a buckets/console car from the factory, so no conversion was needed for me.

It is a pretty staight forward swap and allowed me to run the 3.90 gears out back and still run comfortable hiway RPMs. If you plan on keeping the original gears (2.78 or so, I would guess) I would just swap in a TH-350. It will be cheaper and is a more stout trans in stock form.

    Good luck!

I would recommend calling California Performance Transmission. They are pros at these and will build you one to suit your application. If you have ever heard the name Art Carr, that is his new company. Google it and check out the site.

These E-bay guys are just everyday rebuilders and I would stay away from them, unless it's a low horsepower application.

Look on the turbo Buick forums in the parts for sale. I found mine there for $500 from an '87 GN.

What do you guys think of the current Art Carr company? They apper to have some nice packages for a good price.

len freeman in las vegas did my tranny for my GN at a reasonable price and was more than helpful with shipping. (702) 434-2991

ptsxtreme in sacramento WILL RAPE YOU.. cheaper to have CKperformance in new york build and send you a tranny than go through pts.

Dont forget that you need a TCC lockup switch to unlock the converter when the brakes are applied.
