Ok I have a 67 buick GS340 I am running te stock intake with a holley 600 .I bought the brackets from holley for the arm and the one that bolts to the ear of the carb flange. My problem is that since my car uses a linkage rod it hits the bracket what brakets are you guys using on the older non cable linkage.

    thanks much

I filed a notch in my bracket with a 3/8" round file. It's close but it doesn't rub.

I had a situation that looked similar to this as I used the same bracket. I changed my car over to the Lokar gas pedal and cable system.

Bill, my fear was that if for any reason the motor was able to lift, the throttle would be stuck open. I may be overly cautious but I just could not let it go like that.

It's been 3 1/2 years and so far no plroblems, but that's a good point, I never thought of that. You just had to go and give me one more thing to worry about, didn't you

Make sure that at 100% full throttle you will not pull the TV cable and change the adjustment. When towing another truck on a trailer I matted the gas and messed up the TV cable... 3000 kms later the 7004R died. Now with a NEW GM TV cable and a rebuilt trans everythign is GREAT!

If the geometry is a little off then things can be VERY bad inside the trans!!!! ALWAYS test the line pressures before driving anywhere when modifying the TV cable setup.

I am haveing the same problem. Mine might be a little worse. I have to use a 1/2'' adaptor plate to run my holley. sets a little higher. I was thinking about leaveing the solid arm and going to a cable. Anyone done this or have any ideas?

Bill, did you have any problems with your bto kit fitting up around the throtle arm. My back plate fits then after that the rest of the plates dont line up. My carb is a Quick fuel and I talked to BTO and they said it should work.I have looked at this thing And I am about to get out the dremal.

I have same trani in 67 lark. Cable adjustment is crucial "Trust me I know". There is some info on line for throttle plate geometry. If you have the right throttle plate and I assume you do the centre of your TV cable connector button should be 1/2 inch from your throttle shaft vertical centre line. Assuming this is correct if you remove the TV cable from the throttle plate it should move back approx 3/8th of an inch. With cable disconnected, move you your throttle to WOT, now pull your cable all the way out, the centre of your cable button should be aligned to your TC connection point on your throttle plate.

I use a lokar cable set up and have a 1 inch spacer on my carb. Most will run these trani' s with an extra 1/2 to 1 quart more than recommended. Even with this, if you read the following link, it may make you want to drop your pan (not pants) and go through their recommendations.
