Hey guys, little advice. I have read often that the secondary spring may have a tendency to pop out. What is the best way to secure the spring? Any pics? I have seen a pic of a rivet holding it in, but doesn't that add weight to the secondary weight, thus shortening the WOT shift? Also, looking at the pics, this is a GN governor, but the secondary weight looks like the bigger one. When test driving the new trans, it shifted at WOT at 4800. I would like to get it close to 5000. Where is the best spot to trim from? Drill a hole? Texas T you, recommended taking off 1/2 or 1 ounce, but how do I measure that. It is so close, that I would hate to take off too much and shift too high.
Jay- I've got a oz. scale if you want to borrow it. I've found there's no way around trial and error, and you remove weight in really small increments. Buy some cover gaskets, and I'm back in town in a week or so if you need the scale.
