I have a 69 Skylark, just put in 2004r I bought rebuilt from a guy at the track.
1-2 shift is ok @2000rpm feels normal
2-3 shift happens @ 1750rpm, then right away shifts in to 4th.

Bowtie OD said it may be someone had installed a check ball in the lock-up solenoid actuator. I pulled it out, no check ball. Then i pulled the valve body for inspection and cleaning. put it back in same thing.

I spoke to Jerry at TCI, he was very helpful. In the end he suggested i buy one of his VB rebuild kits $80.00.

    Help please.:3gears:

Head over to www.turbobuick.com and post your question in the transmission section. Really knowledgeable guys on the 200-4r over there...

    Fixed it!
I found the TCC (lock-up) solenoid exhaust port blocked.
That was causing it to lock up the converter as soon as it went into second gear.
    Thanks Everyone!
