i have a lokar cable for tv and a throttle plate adaptor on my edlebrock. Is there a lot of tension on that cable? I can pull it forward gently and then i assume i have reached full extension, but if i tug on it some more i can pull it another half inch...have i reached full extension when i get resistance? Am i just stretching the cable when i am pulling past what seems full extension?? i am having a hard time finding the sweet spot i seem to go through my 123 shifts too quickly...any thoughts?
The TV cable should be adjusted to be at full travel when you're at your WOT throttle position. The TV has a positive stop.
What you are feeling is the inner spring in the TV valve. There is an outer spring on the lever arm in the trany and another on the inner plunger. When you bottom it out it will stop the cable and start to bend the attachment bracket on the intake. Mike
Maybe this will help.. http://www.tciauto.com/Products/Instructions/instructions/gm_tv_cable_adjust.htm
Looks like B&M now supply a cable and an adapter plate. I am pretty close to the right setting, shifting out of 1st too soon. Told I should back a tadd, was also informed that a click on a regular cable is approx 1/16th change in the cable lenght. These need to be BANG ON if you want to take advantage of full potential, I will tinker a bit more, if not happy...out with the lokar and inn with this set up...only pain is in Canada that combo will set you back $200.00. http://www.jegs.com/i/B&M/130/70242/10002/-1 http://www.bmracing.com/PRODUCTS/Transmission-Products_2/Throttle-Valve-Cable-Adapter-Plate
