Does anyone know what the right finish is for the tins on a Buick 215? I know the valve covers and air cleaner are silver, but is there a wrinkle finish on them? Or was it lacquer paint that 'cracked' with the engine heat?
    Thx

I doubt very much if anyone in this group even knows or cares.

It is a special wrinkle finish but I'm not sure how to do it, but there are guys in our Facebook group that can tell you.

Home Depot has a selection of wrinkle paint in spray cans. I'd think you could use one of those for the texture and then spray with your desired color as a top coat.

Yeah, thought of that as well, not sure how a non-engine paint would hold up to the heat. Thx for the input
