I have a 1970 Pontiac Tempest that origionally came with a stock Pontiac 350. With that engine not working and the spare 69 Buick 350 that a luckily had saved, I decided I was going to put it in the Tempest, at leaste until I get my Buick back to good shape. The only ploblem is that I cannot find headers that will fit that engine, and made for that car. I installed my own stainless-steel, custom-bent 2.5-inch dual exhaust with Hooker Super Competition headers. Would I be able to use another pair of header made for a Skylark, considering they are both the same body styles? If not, I heard that several companies have headers made for the Tempest with Buick engines. Do you have any idea where I might find one of these companies? Thanks alot for your time, Bill Phreaekie@aol.com :blast: . :stmad:
i would think that headers meant to the same year skylark would work in your pontiac. theyre both a bodies. ________ Volcano vaporizer review
I have never heard of a company that specializes or even sells products related to skylark-tempest conversions. I don't think you'll have many problems bolting the motor in. Especially considering the closeness of the production years. Good luck on the transplant! Sorry I couldn't be more helpo No:
I would say you shouldn't have any problems with the Buick 350 headers, like mygrain said they're all A-bodies.Call Postons or TA Performance and they should be able to verify.Prices will run anywhere from $289-$365 depending on if you want chrome or Jet-Hot coated or plain:TU:
TA performance has headers for 350-400-430-455 buick engines and i agree with the rest of the guys on them being a bodies they should fit and TAperformance also has shorty headers now so yeah definatly call them (480) 922-6807 FAX (480) 922-6811:TU:
