I'm interested in reproducing the 4 speed ball stud rubber boot. If someone has one, good or bad but complete, let me know. Thanks Frank

I believe I have my original in pretty rough shape. Let me dig it out and post a pic. If it'll help, I'd gladly loan it for development.

I've still got the one for a '65 to send; its a totally different animal though.

I have some parts coming from Dave Kleiner including this boot. I beleive he said it is "close" to the original and is the best available at this time. I should have the parts in the next few days and I'll post a pic of what comes...

So Rob, you're saying there is a boot already being produced that's pretty close? If so, please disclose brand, part number, etc when you get it. Thanks!

I needed some parts and was directed to Dave. He has been great to work with and very helpful with my questions. I suggest you give him a call if you need anything for your car. So far he has (or will soon have) almost everything I've asked for.

I ordered the complete "Reverse Lockout/Backdrive" parts for my manual shift car along with wiper/washer assembly, alternator, and a few other items and he had everything available.

Dave is a very knowledgable and helpful person. I'll let you know part numbers and post some pics once the parts arrive.

    Thanks!

    Frank,

I just bought what was described as a NOS ball stud boot on ebay, but do not know if it really is since I do not have an original to compare it to. The GM part number is 369546, but the package was opened and could have been switched out at some point over the years. Take a look at the pics below and let me know what you think.

I also bought the one Kleiner sells. I do not have a picture to show the differences since it is currently on the car and the car is at the body shop. It is definitely different in appearance but seems to function fine. I do not believe he had them made, but rather found something that would work.

I just used a old 35mm film canister, cut down to fit.
    Someday we will have repos!:beers2:

Send it back. It is not even close. They came in a box. I have posted pics here in the past. Look at pic #132 for the GM box and the NOS boot. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=55125&page=6&highlight=nos+ball+stud

    James, and Jim...
I just looked it up. That seal is pn 1369546. Group 0.817 or 0.851 in later parts books. It's called a 'ball stud to equilizer frame bracket SEAL'.
Correct for many 65-72 applications, including GS.

It's not exactly the boot we've been talking about, but it would be nice to have this one repo'd as well. Hold on to it.

Great pic of the layout Scott.

James my apologies as I thought you were looking for the engine side ball stud boot which is the one I posted.

Some have used a MOPAR boot as as substitute for it. Pics and I think and the part number for it was once posted.

Thanks for the pic, Scott. I can't remember for sure if the reproduction Z bar set-up Dave Kleiner sold me had a seal on that side, but it seems like it didn't. If anyone wants to reproduce this part let me know.

Once I get the car back next week I can post pics of the other ball stud seal Kleiner sells if interested. It fits and functions but looks a different than the NOS seal Jim posted in the other thread.
