I'd like to repaint the engine of of my 69 riviera and want to start with the valve covers. Is "VHT SP-121 Universal Bright Red" correct for this engine? I checked the Chevy Orange but it is to much yellow. The thing is, VHT is easily available in Germany (where I live) and e.g. "Buick Red" by Cars Inc. takes time and money shipping. Thanks. - barryblack
I used "universal red" made by plasticote.....got it in Pepboys......it's a close enough match for me, and seems to stay red after a few years and not turn orange.
so, the DH 1608 is a good replacement for krylon 2114 buick red? I can easily get the DH 1608 here, I might try it,and see if I like how it looks
I agree with the 1608. Ordered what was supposed to be the correct "medium red" for my 68 225 from classicbuicks. It was just Ford red-looked fine though. I waited two weeks to get it and would have been better off going to Auto Zone.
Thanks for all the posts. I think I have to go the hard way and order the DH 1608 even though spray cans cannot be shipped by air. Looking for a german dealer now... and isn't 'DH' more suitable for brakes compared to the 'DE' stuff specifically for engines?
