Hello guys, 2 years ago I've built a 430 small valve iron head engine for my Skylark racecar. Due to building a house unfortunately we needed to sell the car. The new owner put the 430 with a stock converter in his 72 Skylark street car. he dynoed the car and when to the track, here are the numbers: 373,9 RWHP @ 5234rpm 12,446 sek @ 180,56 km/h (trap speed max 113mph) this is with a stock th350 350ci a Buick (!) converter, only 30 degrees of total timing and rev limiter at 5600rpm. here are the specs: Its a 1968 430 Block .030 over and decked, Ive done the oil mods and blocked of the oil passage to the rockers, smoothed the whole lifter gallery, 1971 Heads with std valve sizes, decked and ported. Dual valve springs with 325 open pressure. After decking and cutting valve reliefs into the pistons, I came out with real 10 to 1 CR. Rod and mains are Standard size, stock rods shot peened at work and re-sized with ARP rod bolts. Sp1 Intake ported and matched to heads, 2in open Spacer, 1000cfm Troy Patterson Holley Carb 76/86 jetting. 1 7/8 open headers. Custom grind Scott Brown hyd cam : Dur @ .050 Int 240 Exh 253 Lift 1.6 Int 542 Exh 542 Advert. Duration Int 283 Exh 304 Lobe Centerline Int 105 Exh 113 Lobe Separation 109 Intake Lobe came out at 105,5 after degreeing the cam. running Chevy Solid Lifters 2900-16, lash set at .006 ! TA 1.6 roller rockers and Adjustable Pushrods. 3.90 full spool B&M Th350 full weight 1972 Buick Skylark stock converter due to not prepped track ( Jim Weise Stage 2 Converter 3800 stall was installed Before) Do you think mid 11 sec are possible?
