It may crushed gone in a couple weeks. Their is a 74 lesabre with a really clean 455. I think it has been rebuilt because the engine was very clean. I tried to pull it but gave up when i messed up the nut on the motor mount. I ended up getting another 455. If you want to save it... U Pick Parts 11409 Penrose St Sun Valley, CA 91352 I would be willing to go back and pull it if someone will pay me $300 for it.
WOW IM LOOKING FOR A 455 this is about 15 minutes from me what are the odds! That made my day! I should have gone today but I didnt know. Think it will still be there this weekend?
I think so. It had a marking on it 11-23-07. I assume that is the date the car came into the yard. I know they usually hang around for about a month. It was kind of in the middle of the row so hopefully it will be there. I pulled most everything off it. I didn't do the torque converter bolts either, but i checked it and the engine does turn over. The guy told me that for a complete engine it is $300. After I pulled mine out they made me remove the distributer, exhaust manifolds and power steering pump in order to get it for $162 with tax. What drives me nuts is that I will bet dollars for donuts that they just threw that stuff in the trash as soon as I removed it! I doubt they collected it and moved it back over into the vicinity of the car. The 74 had a more complete engine, it even had a smog pump, so more to take off. I also saw a wrecked 69 wildcat with a 430 at that same yard. I figure if it is a wrecked car you know the engine ran before it was junked. I also spotted a 4-door '70 Electra here Pick Your Part 11201 Pendleton St. Sun Valley, Ca 91352 (800) 962-CARS I could not tell if it was a 455 in this car because it was missing the 455 stamp on the back of the block. The car was right on the end of the main walkway. It even had a carb on it when I saw it 2 weeks ago.
Sorry, I don't recall if it did. I saw a '69 Electra at the U Pick Parts yard. Would that work? I don't recall if it had the emblem either.
