Can anyone out there supply me with the dimensions
of a original equipment 455 rear sump oil pan.
I am in the middle of an engine swap & the current 455 mid-sump
oil pan does not allow for proper engine placement.

See sketch below for required measurements.

Sorry for the poor quality of the picture.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

 :Do No: I don't get it. You have a LeSabre (which Originally came with a Mid sump pan), and you say it "doesn't fit"? And you ask for "Dimensions" of a Rear Sump (that MOST LIKELY WON'T FIT)?
Could you just explain why you want "dimensions", instead of just asking to buy a Rear Sump Pan?:Do No:

I just don't understand. If I could help find a rear sump pan, IF that's what you NEED, I'd be glad to do that. I'll be out in the garage tomorrow, and I'll be glad to take measurements for you, too (unless someone does it Tonight, and beats me to it. )

I'll let you know either way.:TU: :bglasses:

    455 oil pan

    Scott,
    You are right.
My 65 Lesabre came with a 300ci small block with a mid sump oil pan.
I am swapping that engine for a 455.
Currently, I have the 455 placed in between the frame rails
& due to the mid sump oil pan which came with the 455 & increased motor size, I had to push the motor back 2" to avoid hitting the frame.
The body is off the frame & if at all possible I would like to avoid
cutting the firewall when I replace the body.
I have seen prices from $40 to $100 + shipping for a rear sump oil pan & I didn't want to spend the extra money if I didn't need too.
I just wanted to get an idea as to the rear sump oil pan location
to see if it is even worth trying.
So, any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
