Price is really really high. Optimistic but attainable is closer to $45K IMO.

    Should be red?

B-59s with poverty caps got their wheels painted body color. Cars with full wheel covers got black rims, but it was also optional to have them painted body color.
Only full caps/red rims -as factory correct- would be on a red car.

About every white convertible you see has the wheels red where only black would have been available on them. Not sure why so few people choose the body colored wheels, maybe they felt it was to much like the cheaper ones that had the standard caps. When you see them, they just don't look right.

Wow...I love it. Didn't notice the "no heat" thing, kinda awed by the colour. Guess it'd be useless to me here in the Great White North.

I'm certainly not a 'factory or nothin' guy, but I have a couple quibbles with "$120,000 nut & bolt resto"claim.
    • Pretty sure tower hose clamps were used into the mid-'60s.
    • NAPA battery
    • battery cut-off switch
    • Wiper motor is missing
    • Non-original A/C compressor
    • has an alternator
    • and now I'm totally doubting the 'no heat' is original. Heater/defroster was optional across the board, but something about that block-off plate looks one-off.

Cosmetically exterior-interior the car appears to be gorgeous, but it's not a #1 condition restoration on too many underhood points.

The AC is a totally aftermarket unit with heat... at least theres heater hoses up to the hood hinge. Couldve been done a little better. The wiper motor is intact. Probably switched to the alternator as the AC was too much drain on a GEN around town; maybe hiway driving is OK but 10 amps with stop and go is a tuffn'.. Whats with the gap under the PS bracket??? ws

All things I noticed and could give a pass to on a normally priced car. But when asking premium plus money the car should be right. The outside review mirrors also would bother me every time I looked at the car. Non the less, the car is stunning

The smart thing to do is to fall in love, then step back and a day later after the first pangs have worn off look at the car again, this time with a critical eye. Now that I see it again, yeah, for the money being asked I would expect more, and better.

Odd placement for the passenger side mirror...is that where it would have been mounted?

And it is SO close, it's stupid easy stuff, well except the placement of the passenger mirror, well, come to think of it, that's stupid as well. Understandable if it was an all original car that had that done way back, but when it underwent a full restoration and they put it back on like that, inexcusable. It's not uncommon to see mirrors mounted out front as it was hard to see out of them mounted further back, but make it the same whichever you choose. As far forward as 58, they had both door mount and fender mount mirrors as accessories, not sure if that was still the case for 59
